When our loved ones pass on, it can be hard. Here is a poem I wrote titled –
Never parted from joy
They say, “gone but not forgotten”
But there’s more that is really true.
When a loved one, friend or stranger
Says, “goodbye” to you.
We weep and mourn and feel sorrow
Longing for their safety and presence to be.
But your loved one, friend or stranger
Never parted from you actually.
In their joy, they express Love –
The only thing that has ever been true,
And, whether you realize it or not
Their expression of Life is a part of you.
And just like a drop of water
The quality never parted from the sea.
Nor a ray of sunshine from the sun
Its ray expresses nothing differently –
So your loved one, friend or stranger
Their joy remains you see
At one with our loving Creator
Carved in your heart – permanently.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5: 4 This is one of the Beatitudes given to us by Christ Jesus.Throughout the Bible, there are many promises given to us as God’s Word that never fails.
It has been written, “The poor suffering heart needs its rightful nutriment, such as peace, patience in tribulation, and a priceless sense of the dear Father’s loving-kindness. ” Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 365: 31
Christ Jesus taught and gave us a promise in another Beatitude in his Sermon on the Mount: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. KJV Matthew 5: 8 To want to progress is as natural as a flower turns toward the light. Our natural inclination is to want good. Experiencing sorrow or pain we can find truth in this question asked, “Who that has felt the loss of human peace has not gained stronger desires for spiritual joy? The aspiration after heavenly good comes even before we discover what belongs to wisdom and Love.” Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 265: 23-26
God’s promises never fail.
Remember, Love heals us.
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Dear Jill,
Thank you for sending in your comment.
I certainly appreciate your support.
I’m reminded of the hymn called Love by Mrs. Eddy specifically the last stanza which reads,
“Thou to whose power our hope we give,
Free us from human strife.
Fed by Thy love divine we live,
For Love alone is Life;
And life most sweet, as heart to heart
Speaks kindly when we meet and part.” Christian Science Hymnal, Hymn 30
The permanency of joy your poem brings out is very comforting. Thank you Marsha.
Thank YOU, Jobina!
I’m so grateful you alluded to the idea of being comforted.
It reminds me of the promise in KJV Isaiah 66: 13, As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you…
thank you for your posts Marsha!! ❤❤
Certainly, Sandy! I sure appreciate you taking the time to comment!
I can’t help but want to share the good news of God’s dear love for each of us.
It reminds me of the words of Robert Lowry,
No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that Rock I’m clinging,
Since Love is Lord of heav’n and earth,
How can I keep from singing? Hymn 449 in the Christian Science hymnal supplement
