Platform II of XXXII

Hi, this is Marsha from Loveheals.us
Come study the platform with me from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy in the chapter called Science of Being, page 330. We’ll take one part of the platform each day for the next 32 days. We’ll read the words Mrs. Eddy has given us. Then, I’ll share with you some ideas that have come to me and then you get to share your ideas in the blog online in the comment area below.
If you know anyone who might like to participate in this exercise, please forward this to them to have them subscribe to my website.
If you miss some, you can catch up by going to the menu at the top
called “Study the Platform“.

The Platform from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy  330: 8 – 340: 29

When the following platform is understood and the
letter and the spirit bear witness, the infallibility of divine
metaphysics will be demonstrated.

(The deific definitions) God is what the Scriptures declare Him to be, — Life, Truth, Love. Spirit is divine Principle, and divine Principle is Love, and Love is Mind, and Mind is not both good and bad, for God is Mind; therefore there is in reality one Mind only because there is one God. S&H 330: 19

In my work, I begin with God and the fact that, God is Mind and there is only one God so there is only one Mind. Then I establish that God is my Mind, and God is the Mind of the patient I am praying for and God is the only Mind for all of mankind.  This makes there being many mortal minds conflicted for the one Mind is All-in-all.

  1. I love the thought “to begin rightly is to end rightly “. When we start with the infinite then we can be assured of a right outcome.

  2. Marsha Pecaut says

    Elden says:
Marsha, I love what you have started in this powerful study of the Christian Science platform.
My Christian Science teacher, Tomas O. Poyser, C.S.B., stressed this study of the platform and we know why it is so important to review Mary Baker Eddy’s unfoldment from God when she was inspired to accept the Holy Ghost and Comforter and deliver this Second Coming to all of us who are ready.
My goodness, how could we exist with out this powerful revelation from God as the Word that John is quoting in this lesson today.
Love what you are doing and knowing that the needed revival of Christian Science is here.
    Lovingly,
    Elden Stalnaker, C.S.

    Sally Lind says:
Elden, you are so right about the great revival going on all over the world!
We are at the front of the biggest forward movement I have ever felt in the 79 years since my parents found Christian Science in 1940! I have felt it in every community where I have attended a Christian Science service. It has been going for almost 10 years since I first remember feeling it in 2010.
Our annual meeting today in Boston has the forward thrust that Spirit is sweeping down the future.
Nothing of the Truth has ever been lost but all is won by the right estimate of what is the real, ideal Christ with us!
I am rejoicing today in the healing of the nations that is an absolute certainty!
    Our platform assures it!
    With love, Sally Lind, CS

  4. Cathryn Rathsam says

Yes, thank you for this brilliant idea, Marsha. I love that we can share inspiration together. Since there is One Infinite Mind, we have direct access to unlimited and NEW inspiration daily and hourly. I don’t remember reading this citation in this week’s Bible Lesson before on pg 223:21. “Spiritual rationality and free thought accompany approaching Science and CANNOT be put down.” I would add “even within our own church!” New inspiration is within us all and we can rejoice in not only the inspiration and ideas but the implementation and progressive actions which are so needed in our world and our churches. Free thought is to be cherished, not put down! Yea, God!

  5. I love how this platform establishes what we are working with from the very outset. When I think of Principle I think of law. Spirit is the law and that law is Love. It is so good to know that all mind is spiritual, loving, principled and good. That is the only reality. Thanks so much for setting up this study.

  6. So grateful to you Marsha for the opportunity to study these platforms. And I’m also grateful for all the previous posts. Bringing out the fact of the one Mind, and that Mind being only good can help and heal mankind right now. Since everything that God created is good it stands to reason that Mind can only be good and anything unlike good is a false belief.

  7. Whatever chaos seems to be occurring…quiet ourselves, and start-with-God. Everything else will focus out from there in alignment with what God is and knows to be true about ourselves and everyone around us. We can be so happy watching the whole picture shift to harmony and calm.

  8. One mind governing everyone and everything IS so comforting , either God is everything or he’s nothing
I understand God IS everything really my only fearful moments are Godless moments -the moments
When I leave God out and try to know outcomes in advance
Practicing less Godless moments and more of the moments I just humbly bear witness to God and understand perfection IS always his plan

  9. God is Life

    John I
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.

    Psalm 36:9
    For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.

There are a few places in the Bible where it states that God gives life and can take it away. This idea that God would take life away is a contradiction to the very nature of God. Because here we are taking about the end of a physical life in theses bible statements and because we take the inspired word of the Bible, we know that the illusion of a life ending with the destruction of matter is a human construct and short sighted. A fountain does not send forth good and bad water at the same time. Therefor when we transcend our notions from material life to a eternal life, we then can understand that God never takes away Life and so aline our experiences accordingly. If you think about it, there really is no begging to a maternal life except when we say its starts. So in turn there is no end except when we say it ends. The only thing that transcends it all is eternal Life, God.

    God is Truth

    John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
    Hebrews 6:18
it is impossible for God to lie

Saying that God is truth extends beyond Him being truthful to declaring that He is Truth itself. Other things can be truthful, but only God Himself is Truth. Truth flows out of His very nature. So if God is all, and all, then all is Truth, If we seem to be experiencing or encountering something that would contradict this understanding, then we need to reconcile the experience to our understanding of All-ness and let the lie destroy itself in the light of Truth.

    God is Love

    John I 4:8
    God is Love

    I Corinthians 13:3-8 (Charity = Love)
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
    I Juhn 3:1
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

We can not perceive Love with our maternal senses, therefor there is no Love in matter. Love instead is experienced viscerally, emotionally, and euphorically. Love has no bounds and can’t be confided to a single person, place, or thing, except in God, and his reflection.
