Thank you, Marsha, for your great insights and for the opportunity you’re offering us to join in this inspiring project. I love that the knowledge of infinite Spirit is left to revelation. That means that it’s coming directly to each us from God only and it’s pure, “uncontaminated by human hypotheses,” and that it heals instantly.
Thanks so much! I needed that.
Thank you Marsha! I love thinking about God as infinite, unlimited goodness and supply. I am excited to study the Platform with you.
Thank you for starting this study. Searching infinitude in our hearts really leads to that higher glimpse of Soul our true identity, Spirit the substance of our being and Life, the ever unfolding infinitude.
In the last sentence, Mrs. Eddy reminds us of our freedom of thought. The 1828 Websters defines Individuality as” Separate or distinct existence; a state of oneness.” As we wait and listen for God’s guidance on our sweet relationship to Him, Spirit, we can put aside human conjecture and trust the revealing and revelation of Divine Science. What a joy!
I like thinking of the infinite as totally orthogonal to the finite, meaning there cannot be any connection or continuum between the two. Thus, the infinite cannot be measured or materially discerned; it is both too big to be confined/contained and too small (infinitesimal) to be quantized or atomized. We can think of this deific supremacy paragraph as the cornerstone of the entire platform.
Thank you so much for this invaluable study. It just so happens that my association address is coming up in September and our topic just happens to be on the platform. What a Divine blessing…
So much love
What this paragraph says to me is that if we are to understand God we must drop the material sense because we aren’t going to learn anything from it and we certainly don’t want to leave our understanding of God to human conjecture. So we need to set out on our journey of discovery with our spiritual sense open and ready to receive all the infinite ideas of God and the perfect man.
Goes right with this week’s lesson on God. Thanks!
This is so great!
We have to stop looking to “matter” for results…we won’t find them there. The good news is that we are not matter. Since we are spiritual, we can tangibly see ourselves transforming into the perfect expressions of God…proof that He/She/Love is…letting divine Love be “revealed” through our lives!
MaryBakerEddy library .org -artilce on “The planks of the platform “
I can just imagine her inspired thoughts in writing these back in the day of 1878 when she and her husband Asa Gilbert Eddy were the only two teachers of Christian Science
Then later ( 1884 ) using these planks as an aid to teach the teachers of Christian Science
So grateful for Mary Baker Eddy ,this library , this article and what Marsha
brings to the study ✨???? to learn the importance of these planks and the examples of how to apply each in our daily life as Marsha gives us examples with each one
Please add after Marsha ..and her husband Bill
I don’t know how I missed writing that and its important , Mary Baker Eddy and her husband did so much for us all as living examples of this verses in Matthew 18 :20 when two or three gather in my name there I am in the midst of them “
✨????????✨ As do Bill and Marsha
My granddaughter, 14, in biotechnology, came home and talked about the solar system, etc. She didn’t realize that there were other solar systems, other galaxies, etc. She talked about how many years ago, the earth was created, dinosaurs and that man was only a recent addition to creation. I laughed. I told her about infinite Mind! I talked about how this is just a mortal sense or view of things. Mind is infinite, always has been and so as God’s reflection the creation always has been. Then she said that all this dinosaurs and fossil stuff doesn’t go with the Bible. I said it doesn’t go with the literal sense of Genesis One. We take the ‘inspired’ word. The Bible is always showing us the nothingness of material sense. She said her science teacher said that she couldn’t explain the Bible and she wouldn’t try. I told her that is best. Material sense can’t explain spiritual sense. So, don’t go there either.
It is interesting how Ms. Eddy said that God is the only intelligence of the universe, “including man”.
Because we can’t see God or His image and likeness, we make up what He and his likeness are in relation to what we perceive with our material senses, or we understand what we are experiencing; we reconcile the moment to what God’s truth and perfect reflection are and not just human conjecture. The more we understand and practice this the more the two different perceptions begin to align and then there will be less we will need to correct in our experience. In our revelation, we start to see more Spiritually about what we are perceiving.
