The Ten Commandment Boat.

I have a fun video for you today. Get your kids together and join our Sunday school class to learn The Ten Commandments with us. You can find them in the Bible, from Moses, in Exodus 20: 3-17.
Come along and take a ride on the Ten Commandment Boat.

Sometimes pirates think bad thoughts to hurt or take from people, but when you get underway on THIS pirate boat you stay afloat with only ONE good God. Are you ready? Here we go!!
1. There’s only one God. God, good, is the one and only power who is Love and loves us always.

2. Don’t have graven images. God is Spirit, so don’t give any power to any bad thoughts that aren’t like God. Stop them fast with good thoughts.

3. Don’t take God’s name in vain. God is Love, so we say His name with love, never when we are angry.

4. Don’t forget the Sabbath Day. Since doing good is right to do all of the time, the Sabbath day can be any day we take time to pray and to think about and express the goodness of God.

5. Don’t forget to honor your Father and Mother. We all have the same Father-Mother, God, and when we honor and respect our parents, we show love to God, also.

6. Don’t kill. Being angry and mean are not God thoughts. We don’t want to harm anyone. God teaches us to love every one and see them as His image and likeness. This is the way we can express happiness.

7. Don’t adulterate. To adulterate is to try to mix a little bit of evil with good; but evil can never mix with good, just like oil can’t mix with water. We must keep our promise to always be pure and truthful.

8. Don’t steal. We can never lack because God’s love never runs out – it’s unending. God supplies us with all we need. So there is never a need to take something that doesn’t belong to us.

9. Don’t bear false witness. To be a witness for God is to promise to stand up for the good in others and for the good in ourselves every day. This is to know the truth.

10. Don’t covet. God is constantly giving us His love and goodness like the sun gives sunshine rays of warmth and light. We don’t need to wish we had something that someone else has because God’s love is already supplying it.

When we obey the First Commandment and have only one good God, Love, and listen to no other thoughts, then all of the rest of the nine commandments will be easy to follow. Our instruction from Christ Jesus is in two great commandments: To love God and to love our neighbor as our self. The Ten Commandments given to us through Moses, work hand-in-hand with Christ Jesus’ commandments. We learn “how” to bless when we obey the first commandment, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me”(Spirit) and choose to love God first and foremost. Then the rest of the nine commandments are lived in conjunction with the other great commandment…because loving one God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind, (Matt 22: 37) will not allow us to disobey the rest of the commandments as we love our neighbor as our self!! (Matt 22: 39)

        • Marsha Pecaut says

Hello to you, Sandy and Ron!
Thank you for sending your comment. I appreciate how the Christian Science Sunday school
is based on the Bible and teaches the children first the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer with its
spiritual interpretation and the Sermon on the Mount. With this video blog specifically, I wanted to
present the Ten Commandments in a fun way; my purpose is to bless us all, even adults!
Blessings to both of you and we look forward to getting together with you soon in San Jose!

      I appreciate you commenting, Keitha!
You made me think of that childlike receptivity Mrs. Eddy writes about in her work,
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,323:28-2. “The effects of Christian Science are not so much
seen as felt. It is the “still, small voice” of Truth uttering itself…Willingness to become
as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea.”
