Aloha – video

The most important aspect in our life is our spiritual growth and our relationships should support and nurture this growth. Although, as Shakespeare has said in As you like it, “Sweet are the uses of adversity.” Whether we find our self in a healthy relationship, or not, we are constantly growing Spiritward.  Shakespeare ends the scene with the words, “And this our life…finds good in everything.”

I’ve been rereading a chapter on Marriage in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy pages 56 -69. It’s enlightened hundreds of thousands of people around the world and through its study it has brought healing to so many. Since good relationships are instrumental for our health and happiness, I highly recommend reading this chapter. It speaks of checking our thought and actions based on the importance of expressing certain qualities in our lives such as being loving, pure, tender and strong, also qualities such as intellect, goodness, virtue and honesty.

Very often, in my study of the Bible and the Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, I am reminded of the wedding vows my husband and I made. Within our vows is the Golden Rule, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them:” (KJV Matt 7: 12) Our vows happen to be the 6th tenet of Christian Science and everyday we are expected to practice what we preach.

And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure. (S & H 497: 24)

If you bring this vow of commitment to everyone you have a relationship with, you will be living the Love of God, Divine Love. Not only will your spiritual growth be supported and nurtured, but also you will support others in their spiritual growth.

Aloha.

Remember Love heals us.
